The Top Contributor to Happiness at Work is Autonomy

Turns out self-direction (aka autonomy) is critical for team members to feel happy.  Happy team members are more engaged and easier to inspire.  The research and evidence for self-directed teams who behave like a great basketball team, or jazz band, continues to grow.  This is a really nice article by Scott Mautz for Inc Magazine that offers 8 "best practice" ways to grant autonomy, intelligently.
